HELEN M. COVEY, 99, a longtime resident of Deming passed away Monday, June 4, 2018, at the Willow Manor in Deming.

Helen was born September 18, 1918, in Burt, New York to Emmett and Beatrice (Lockwood) Salisbury. She has been a resident of Deming since 1972 having moved here from Denver. She was a secretary in the hotel industry until her retirement and locally was a member of The First United Methodist Church.  She also was a member of the Order of Eastern Star, the White Shrine of Jerusalem, and the Philanthropic Educational Organization.

She is survived by her daughter, Susan M. Moon of Grand Junction, CO; 2 daughters in law, Phyllis Covey of Pueblo, CO and Judith Slack of Arvada, CO; 10 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, 20 great great grandchildren, 18 great-great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband Jamie L. Covey, great grandchild Molly Leonard, 3 step-children, Joyce Leonard and her husband Ralph, (Helen’s son-in-law), Richard Covey and Garry Covey, son in law, Robert Moon, and 2 sisters, Joyce Richards and Dorothy Salisbury.
