Helen L. Perdue (Age 78), beloved wife, mother, sister and friend, passed away on Saturday, October 1, at Winchester Medical Center in Winchester, VA. She was born on April 8, 1938, in Arlington, VA to the late Vinton C. Payne and Ruth E. (Wilkins) Payne. Helen devoted her life to loving and serving others, and was a living example of integrity, honesty, excellence and family. Before retiring in 2004, she worked for the Town of Herndon Police Department, serving as Assistant to the Chief of Police, a position she cherished. Her greatest accomplishment, to which she dedicated the majority of her life, was that of being a wife and mother. Nothing was more important to her than raising their three girls to be educated, strong, responsible and independent women, and loving wives, mothers and sisters. Helen is preceded in death by her cherished husband of 58 years, Roy Perdue, Jr., and brother, Ed Payne.
