Helen L. Hennessy, 85, of Garwood Court in South Bend, IN, passed away at 2:35pm Saturday, September 3, 2005 in St. Joseph Regional Medical Center, South Bend.
She was born on December 11, 1919 to the late Henry and Lila (Green) Wesche in Miamiville, OH, and has lived in South Bend since June 2001, coming from Cincinnati, OH. Along with her parents, four brothers, William, Howard, Ralph, and Bruce Wesche, also preceded her in death.
Mrs. Hennessy retired in October 1981 from Commercial Union Insurance Company in Cincinnati, OH, after 22 years of employment.
On February 15, 1944, as Helen L. Wesche, she married James J. Hennessy in Cincinnati, OH. He died on February 29, 2000.
She is survived by two daughters, Kathleen (Larry) Ratliff of South Bend, IN; Tricia Hennessy of Kalamazoo, MI; two grandchildren, Kara (Tracy) Ellis of Carpentersville, IL; David (Jennifer) Ratliff of Indianapolis, IN; three great grandchildren, Keenan, Carter, and Braden Ellis; and one sister, Marian Binning of Milford, OH. Also surviving is her former son-in-law, Don Adleta of Athens, OH; and one sister-in-law, Ruth Wesche of Loveland, OH.
Helen enjoyed gardening and cooking, and had a great love for cats.
