Helen K. Gallagher, 92, of Bethlehem, passed away peacefully on Friday June 22, 2018, at St. Luke’s University Hospital in Fountain Hill. She was the wife of George J., Gallagher, Jr., with whom she shared 69 years of loving marriage.

Born in Bethlehem, she was the daughter of the late Bertalan and Susan Kish. Helen was a graduate of Bethlehem High School. She worked many years as a seamstress for Laris Silk Mill until retiring. An excellent cook, Helen loved spending time in the kitchen preparing her husbands and families favorites such as Hungarian meals, Kiffels, Homemade soups, and pizzas. Helen and her husband enjoyed traveling together including driving and visiting every state in the U.S three times and spending several summer weeks in Florida each year.

Her sweetness and kindness made her beloved by all, including those she met throughout their travels, most of whom she remained in contact with via letters and phone calls through the years. Known to most as “Aunt Helen”, with a heart full of love, she found great enjoyment in caring for all those near and far, including the neighborhood children, and welcoming all into their home. An extension of her selflessness and kindness are the many contributions made to their community and charitable organizations over the years. Helen took great pride in caring for their home, always being there for family and friends, but nothing was more rewarding and fulfilling to her than being George’s “Sweet Girl” and having shared the love and life they had together.

SURVIVORS: In addition to her loving husband George, nephew Kenneth Gallagher, Jr, and his wife April of Hellertown; nieces Kristin Daniello and her husband John of Allentown, Jessica Moser and her husband Mark of Bethlehem; sister in law Rosemary Gallagher of Bethlehem; nephew in law Tom Saylor of Palmerton, Brother Peter Kish; along with many other nieces, nephews, and extended family.  In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her niece Rosanne M. “Roxy” Saylor, sister Esther Miller, and brother Stephen Kish.
