Helen Johnston Mulherin, age 82, resident of Orange and beloved wife to the late Gregory J. Mulherin, passed away Saturday, May 5, 2012 at home surrounded by her loving family. Born on March 28, 1930 in Livingston Manor, NY she was the daughter of the late Roy and Veronica Regan Johnston. Helen earned a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from the State University of NY, Oneonta Teacher College and a Master’s degree in Psychology from the University of New Haven. She was a dedicated former teacher at Mary L Tracy School and a longstanding member of the Amity Board of Education. Helen was an active member of the Orange Players Club, the Orange Historical Society and the Orange Bicentennial Commission.
She is survived by her four cherished sons, Timothy of Orange, Gregory and his wife Deborah of Fort Pierce, FL, Daniel of Orange and Michael and his wife Beth Ann of Orange, loving grandchildren, Devin, Caitlin, Carlee, Shannon and Justin, two sisters Vera Farrell of Livingston Manor, NY, Sarah Postier of Bloomfield, VT and numerous nieces and nephews.
