Helen Isora Fisher Wolfgang, 93, passed away peacefully on April 9, 2015 in Michigan where she recently made her home.

She was born on July 29, 1921 to Charles W. and Amelia Kendter Fisher in Kulpmont, Pennsylvania, the oldest of three children. She graduated from Kulpmont High School in 1938. Following her graduation, Helen worked in the Kulpmont area to help support her family.

On August 8, 1942 she married Charles E. Wolfgang in Kulpmont, Pennsylvania. They were blessed with a loving marriage for 67 years until Charles’ death in 2010. During World War II she lived in several east coast cities while following Charles’ naval assignments.

After the war Helen and Charles made Rome, NY their home. Helen was an active member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, serving in many ways including the German supper, Altar Guild and as a lifelong member of the Young Ladies Society. She volunteered many years for the American Red Cross bloodmobile.

Helen is lovingly survived by her children Judy (Terry) Dreyer of Plymouth, Michigan, Donald (Lynne) Wolfgang of Gilbert, Arizona, Letha (Fran) Palczynski of Coral Springs, Florida, son-in-law Whitney Benedict of Rome, 9 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her daughter, Jessie Benedict and her brother Bill and sister Vivian.

She loved and was loved by her family and was treasured by all who knew her. She brought her kind spirit and Christian faith to every aspect of her life.
