Mrs. Helen F. Ryan, age 98 of Bowers Hill Road, Oxford, died February 21, 2009 at Hewitt Memorial Health Care in Shelton. She was the beloved wife of the late Howard F. Ryan
Daughter of the late James and Cora Macfarlane, she was born December 5, 1910 in Waterbury. Helen was a resident of Devon for 46 years, before moving to Oxford. She was a sewing machine operator for 25 years and was an office clerk for the former Charles Friedman Auto Parts in Bridgeport for 19 years until her retirement in 1979.
Survivors include a daughter, Cora M. Nichols of Oxford: two sons, Howard F. Ryan Jr. of Southbury and William T. Ryan of Seymour; nine grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren and four great great grand-children. She was predeceased by a son, James H. Ryan and a brother James C. Macfarlane
