Mrs. Helen E. Martin, age 82, beloved wife of 64 years to John E. Martin of Milford, passed away on Monday, December 8, 2008 in Milford Hospital.
Daughter of the late Stanley and Olga Kondraska Makowski, she was born on December 31, 1926 in Holyoke, MA. Helen was an avid NY Yankee and UCONN Women’s Basketball fan. She loved being in the garden and enjoyed going to the casinos. She was also a former member of the Milford Senior Center.
In addition to her husband, she leaves three devoted children, Rosemary Philips and her husband Robert of Shelton, John E. Martin Jr. of Springtown, TX, and Kevin Martin of Milford, three cherished grandchildren, Brian Philips of Shelton, Craig Philips and his wife Jennifer of Bristol, and Johanna Young of Ft. Worth, TX, and three great grandchildren, Jazmine and Kristian Young and Avery Ryan Philips. She is also survived by three sisters, Dolores Scinto of Milford, Nellie Falco of Middletown, and Mary DiMario of Wallingford, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by seven brothers and sisters.
