Helen Eyles (Heydrick) Dutcher passed away on January 13, 2011, in Durham, CT. She was born on November 6, 1918, in Philadelphia, PA, and was predeceased by her beloved husband of 62 years, Russell, and her parents, Helen Eyles and William Heydrick. She is survived by her loving and admiring family: sisters Margaret Beyer (Andrew), Santa Ana, CA, and Eleanor McKeeman, Aurora, CO, daughter Carol Bream (William Johnson), Gatineau, QC, sons William Dutcher (Anne), Great Falls, VA, and Robert Dutcher (Susan), Middletown, CT, as well as five grandchildren, one great grandson and numerous nieces and nephews. Helen graduated from Temple University in Philadelphia with a B.A., a M.Sc. and an Ed.D., which she received at age 70. She worked for the Philadelphia School District for nearly 30 years and retired in order to complete her doctoral thesis, Factors that Lead to Satisfaction in Retirement. She continued her professional life after retirement by giving pre- and post-retirement seminars.
