Gallagher, Helen B.Bay City, MichiganSurrounded by her family, Helen B. Gallagher, age 99, passed away at home on February 9, 2013. She was born on June 6, 1913 in Preston, PA to the late John and Catherine Carlin. She married Michael A. Gallagher on June 17, 1939 in Ashley, PA. He predeceased her on November 19, 1996. Surviving her are three children, Kay (Carl) McLaughlin of Waterford, MI, Barbara Gallagher of Cheboygan, MI and Molly (Jim) Anderson of Bay City. She is also survived by her beloved grandchildren, Erin Gallagher Lauer of Littleton, CO, Shannon Horvath of North Arlington, NJ, Michael R. (Lynn) Gallagher of Crozet, VA, Ashley (Brent) Reed of Bay City and Daniel (Gina) Anderson of Bay City; her great-grandchildren, Chris Witkop, Patrick and Michael Careri, Helena, Neve and Liam Gallagher, Lauren Amyotte, Makayla Reed, Easton, Greer and Ian Anderson; and a great-great-granddaughter, Gabriella Heatherly-Careri. Helen is also survived by her very beloved brother, Andrew Carlin of Yardley, PA. She was preceded in death by her grandson, Gary M. Gallagher; her brother, John Carlin; sisters, Kitty (John) Nichols and Charlotte (Bill) Morrissey; and in-laws, Daniel (Mary) Gallagher, Mary (Joe) McDowell and Rev. John Gallagher. Despite leaving school at an early age she instilled the value of education and knowledge in her family. Helen loved reading, old movies, especially westerns, and all things Irish. She will be greatly missed by all, but we are thankful for almost 100 years of love and care.
