Hedwig Hattie (Barke) Witte, 105, of Peru, passed away at 6:22 p.m. Wednesday, November 25, 2009, at Pleasant View Luther Home, Ottawa. Mrs. Witte was born December 21, 1903, in Tonica, IL to August and Emma (Traeger) Barke.
She married William A. Witte on June 30, 1926, in Zion United Church of Christ, Peru. She was a member of Zion United Church of Christ, Women’s Guild, and Royal Neighbors.
She is survived by two daughters, Ruth Bryant of Depue, IL, and Joan (Wesley) Munson of Naperville, IL; 6 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband on June 18, 1963; with one brother and two sisters.
