HC Sala Samia Peter Te’o, 65, of Tutuila Samoa, unexpectedly passed away and called home to heaven on October 7, 2021.
Peter was born August 4, 1956 in Auckland, New Zealand, to Tupe Te’o and Leatumalama Tavai Te’o. He was the second oldest of eight children. Peter was a tremendous athlete and excelled in sports. Throughout the years he participated in Rugby, Basketball, Track and Field, Golf, Tennis, and swimming at a young age. He also led rugby and basketball teams to championships as a coach. He loved his food, as well as music, singing, dancing, fishing and most of all being around family and making them laugh. There was never a dull moment when Peter was around. He had a huge presence and a larger than life energy.
In 1977, He met Ateliana Toilolo and raised 5 children and 4 grandchildren together. Raising his family was a motivation that made him excel in his career. He started out as a Janitor and then found his passion in leadership when he became a Manager for Meadow Gold (Island’s Choice), Chicken of the Sea, Starkist, and Polynesia Shipping.
Peter is survived by his wife, Ateliana Te’o; children, Ruth, Rodney, Rowena, Roxanne, and Richie; grandchildren, Jedidiah, Rodric, Rossetti, and Leatumalama; siblings, Ruth, Tagi, Epenesa, Fa’asaei, Jemima, Millie, and Leon. He was a father-figure to many and helped raise and nurture his nephews and nieces to their full potential. He will be greatly missed by family and friends from all over the world.
