Peggy was born in the family home in the Sun River Valley east of Fort Shaw. She attended Fort Shaw Elementary and High School, graduating as valedictorian of her class.

Peggy’s love of music led to her career as teacher and accompanist. She taught music to all comers, charging only one dollar an hour which she later changed to three dollars. She was not in it for money, but by her desire to share her love of music with all, which over the years, numbered well over one-hundred.

She met her husband Lawrence at a community dance in Fort Shaw. After a courtship, they were married and moved to a farm on Ashuelot Bench not far from Fort Shaw and raised five children while still teaching piano and playing for the community.

As a dedicated Catholic she played the organ for St Ann’s Church in Fort Shaw for over sixty years as well as being very active in Altar Society and later the Diocesan Council of Catholic Women.

Later in life she joined the Legacy Legislature working for senior citizen’s concerns. She and her husband Lawrence were instrumental in the construction and opening of the Sun River Valley Senior Center, of which both were active members. As she became less and less physically able to care for herself in her beloved home in Ashuelot she moved to the Rainbow Assisted Living Community. Because of physical limitations she moved to Park Place Nursing Home, where she passed away.

Her goal in life was to live to be 100 and her determination despite physical limitations allowed her to reach that goal. Everyone who knew her appreciated and were awed by her happy disposition. She will be sorely missed by all.

Survivors include her five children, Cecelia, “CA” Buckley of Helena, Larry (Retta) Fasbender of Helena, Margaret Mary “Tootzle” Fasbender of Great Falls, Mike (Vicki) Fasbender of Fairfield and Theresa “Taffy” (Barry) Cochran of Great Falls; eleven grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren; three brothers, Gordon Blossom of Thorpe, WA, Richard Blossom of Great Falls and Robert Blossom of Fort Shaw.

Those who preceded Peggy in death include her husband Lawrence Fasbender, Son-In-Law Tom Buckley, her brother Walter “Bud” Blossom and her sister Norma Blossom-Olsen.
