Hazel L. Ross passed away peacefully Tuesday evening April 26, 2011 at Morrison Woods Health Campus.
Born on a farm in Salem Township June 1, 1923, Hazel attended Daleville Schools and later in life, returned to the same land where her ancestors settled in the 1800’s.
She had married J. Donald Ross in 1941, and together they enjoyed their retirement from this peaceful place.
“Grandma Ross” was famous for her intelligent and witty comments on life, her chicken and dumplings, pies, and her love of gardening and nature.
Hazel is survived by a daughter Judith Shaffer Fisher (husband-C. Ross Fisher); Cardiff by the Sea, California, a son Donald Ross, Jr. of Cocoa Beach, Florida, five grandchildren Ronald T. Shaffer; Suzanne Yeakle (husand-Dennie); Sherry Payne (husband-Ronald); Jennifer (Ross) Thacker (husband-Michael), Jill (Ross) Miller (husband-Shawn); Eleven great-grandchildren also survive.
Hazel was preceded in death by her parents Joseph and Clara Bright, by her husband J. Donald Ross in 1998, and her only sibling, Gerald Bright.
