Hazel Fern Barkley, age 83 of Huntsville, passed away Friday, January 21, 2022. She was born to Hassie and Artie Gentry September 6, 1938, she was one of 9 children. She was married to Homer Barkley for 35 years and was a loving mother to Judy Hodge and loving stepmother to Lawrence and Jerry Barkley. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Glenn Gentry, Donald Gentry, Kenneth Gentry; sisters, Thelma Meador Parr, Betty Dees Morgan, ; step-son Jerry Barkley. She is survived by daughter, Judy Hodge; step-son Lawrence Barkley; brother, Jimmy Cobb Gentry; sister, Judy Hinkle Beach; Grandchildren, Sandee Barkley Redden, Lori Barkley Robinson, Terry Barkley, Bruce Barkley, Michele Davis, Lori Kelley, Jessica Hodge, Leah Conard, Presley Hodge, Nya Hodge.
She was a great cook and baker, fastidious housekeeper, and a private duty sitter for 10 years.
She also loved fishing and square dancing.
