Harvey “Junior” Helms, Jr., age 88, of Bloomington, Indiana passed away on July 17, 2017 in an automobile accident. He was born on July 29, 1928 to Harvey, Sr. and Mildred (Heaton) Helms in Bloomfield, Indiana. Harvey was a dairy farmer for many years in Bloomfield.

He enjoyed taking drives to look at crops and sight see, especially around Oden, Indiana and the Amish community. He also liked to mow his lawn and always kept it very pristine. He also liked to listen to music, mainly southern gospel, and he loved to attend church at the 11th Street Pentecostal Church in Bloomington, pastored by Brother Michael Douglas.

Harvey is survived by his wife, Ellen “Sue” (Douglas) Helms, sons, Wendell Helms and wife Debbie of Bloomington, Lonnie Helms of Spencer, grandchildren, David Helms and wife Angie, Emily Dickerson and husband Eric, and Tonya Moore and husband Chad all of Bloomington, great-grandchildren, Ryan and Reese Helms, Morgan and Preston Dickerson, and Matthew, Carissa, and Ethan Moore all of Bloomington, brother, Ronnie Helms and wife Brenda of Bloomfield, sisters, Vada Clayton and husband Floyd of Bloomington, Dolly Van Deventer and husband Dale of Shelbyville, Lorene Lindsay of Bloomington, Nancy Craig and husband Jackie of Bloomington, Nellie Yoho and husband Dave of Bloomington, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Laura Helms, brothers, Oscar and Homer Helms, sisters, Dorothy James, Evelyn Hamlin, and Margaret Lane.
