Harvey Clinton Aden died Thursday, 7 April. He was born on 11 September 1925 in Paris, Tennessee.

He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Frances Edwards Aden of Huntsville; sons, Timmy C Aden and wife Pamela of Athens and Mark Alan Aden and wife Susan of Huntsville and his daughter Sharon Anne Aden of Atlanta. He had 4 grandchildren Timothy Aden, Eric Aden, Alan Aden and Maebeth Aden and 5 great grandchildren, Avery Aden, Rylee Aden, Ansley Aden, Addison Aden, and Camden Aden.

He was preceded in death by his grandson, David E. Aden.

Harvey served in the US Marine Corps in World War II – he now rests with the many friends he left behind on Iwo Jima. His oldest son was born as he struggled through the sands of Iwo Jima. After returning from the war, he graduated as a Civil Engineer from the University of Mississippi. He worked for the Army Corps of Engineers in Iceland, Pakistan, and Huntsville from 1955 until he left the Corps of Engineers in 1960 to begin work for NASA on the Apollo moon program. At NASA he was Chief of Facilities responsible for the design and construction of NASA Moon program facilities across the country. While normally quiet, calm, reserved person, he did get very emotional as he watched Americans become the first to walk on the surface of the moon.
