Harry James “Jim” Oaks began his journey on this Earth on December 10, 1940, in Bakersfield, California. He was the 4th child of 9 born to Harold Oaks, Sr. and Flavia Yacoppetti Oaks.
Jim met the love of his life, Marilyn, in September of 1961. They were married on June 23, 1962 and remained happily married for 53 years. They had 3 children, Kenneth, Steven and Kristine.
During his life, Jim was a hard-working man and worked for many years in construction. Jim was also a very loving, patient and kind-hearted man. He was devoted to his family and would do anything for anyone, especially those he loved. Jim loved children and had a special bond with his grandchildren; one of his favorite things to do over the past year was to work in the garden with his granddaughter, Megan. Jim, Marilyn, their daughter and her family all moved to Kuna, ID, in 2008.
Jim’s journey on this Earth ended on March 12, 2016, in Meridian, Idaho, while surrounded by his family.
Jim is survived by his wife, Marilyn, and two of his children, Kenneth (Karen) Oaks and Kristine (Mike) Goodwin, as well as his grandchildren: Krystal, Kendal, Kelsie, Megan and Malu, and 5 great-grandchildren: Kevin Jr., Kaylee Jo, Kameron, Journey and Kaylee.
Jim is also survived by his siblings: Alvin (Gladys) Oaks, Bill Oaks, Barbara Snook, Norma Howell and Linda Finley as well as a sister-in-law, Ruth Oaks. He is also survived by numerous nephews and nieces who will always remember him as their beloved “Uncle Jim”.
Jim is preceded in death by his parents, his son, Steven Oaks, his brothers Harold Oaks, Jr., Richard Oaks, Sr. and Leonard Oaks (as an infant); his sister-in-law, Jean Oaks and his nephew, Richard Oaks, Jr.
