Harry H. Dies, 85, of New Carlisle, IN, passed away 8:30 a.m., Friday, October 21, 2005, in St. Josephs Regional Medical Center, South Bend, IN. Harry was born on October 17, 1920, in Hershey, NE, to George Dies, Sr. and Margaret (Leader) Dies, who both preceded him in death. Also preceding him in death were two sisters, Louise Wilson and Christine Lavendusky, and two brothers, George Dies, Jr. and Pete Dies. Harry retired in 1976 from Clark Equipment, Buchanan, MI, where he was employed for 35 years as a machine operator. On January 16, 1941, in Sidney, NE, he married Helen V. Amen, who survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Judith (Donald) Grzegorek of South Bend, IN, and Joyce Penney of Vergas, MN; four grandchildren, Tim (Marilyn) Penney, Scott (Joy) Penney, Brett Grzegorek, and Stephani Penney; five great-grandchildren, Andrew Penney, Alec Penney, Marissa Velez, Grace Penney, and Jack Penney; one sister, Ann Schafer of South Bend, IN; and by three brothers, William Dies of New Carlisle, IN, Jacob Dies of Buchanan, MI, and Richard Dies of New Carlisle, IN.
