Harry E. Evans, 84, of Anderson, passed away October 11, 2012 at his residence. He was born July 28, 1928 in Anderson and resided most of his life in Anderson. Harry graduated from Anderson High School and served his country in the US Army. He retired in 1989 as a Tool & Dye maker for Guide Lamp Division of General Motors after 40 years of service.

He was a member of the American Legion Anderson Post, and volunteered at St. John’s for over ten thousand hours in the rehabilitation and chemotherapy departments.

He was also a member of the 1st Calvary Division Association. Harry is survived by his sons, Jonathan E. Jennifer Evans of McCordsville, Jeffrey N. Dawn Evans of Ludington, Michigan, and James S. Evans of Indianapolis, daughters, Joan E. James Breeden of Anderson, and Julie A. Rushton of Indianapolis, eight grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Edith Eckstein Evans, brother, John R. Evans, sister, Margaret J. Bronnenburg, sister, Virginia E. Hamilton, and his grandson, Evan L. Minnear.
