Harrison Pollard, Sr.
January 6, 1940 – November 13, 2021
Harrison Pollard, Sr. of Morrison, Colorado, was born on January 6, 1940, in Winona, Mississippi, to his single teen-aged mother, Louise Pollard. When Harrison was very young, his mother Louise decided she wanted to move the family from the South. That is when they relocated to West Des Moines, Iowa, where Harrison grew up under the nurturing care of his mother and beloved Grandma Ellen. Harrison’s grandparents were devout believers, and Harrison’s love of God developed from a very early age.
As a teenager, he attended Valley View High School in West Des Moines, and excelled in athletics, playing football, basketball, and baseball. His success on the football team led to him receiving a scholarship to attend Parson’s College in Fairfield, Iowa.
In 1962 he married Sharon Dabner, and two sons were born to them: Harrison, Jr. in 1963 and Camron Scott in 1965. In 1973 he married Irene Stavig, and his daughter Renata Christine was born in 1976.
In 1983 he married Roxanne Cohen, becoming a stepfather to three more sons, Jim, Doug and Jarett.
Harrison will be remembered by all who knew him for his huge smile, hearty laugh, compassion for people, and above all else, praying for all his children to be Saved and heaven bound. His love for his family and his God was infinite. He is survived by his loving wife, Roxanne, his three children, three stepsons, ten grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and countless brothers and sisters to whom he ministered and supported throughout his lifetime.
