Harriet went to be with the Lord and was greeted by her family in heaven on Friday, March 8, 2019. She was 93 years old. Harriet Louise Cook was born the 3rd child of the late William W. and Anna F. (Selden) Cook on October 30, 1925 in Saginaw. Her and her seven siblings which included three sets of twins, enjoyed growing up in Saginaw. She graduated from Saginaw High School and received her varsity letter as a Junior for athletics. She married William “Bill” G. Kolhagen on June 14, 1947 in Saginaw and they celebrated 59 years together before his passing on November 23, 2006. Harriet was a bookkeeper for Adam Meyer & Son for 33 years, retiring when she was 70. She was a loyal Tigers fan, and enjoyed bowling, reading, crossword puzzles, playing bingo and going to the casino.
She will be dearly missed by her son, Roger A. (Janet) Kolhagen; son-in-law, Loren Piehl; five grandchildren: Gretchen (Brad) Scramlin, Marshal (Katie) Piehl, Craig (Rhonda) Kolhagen, Spencer (Katie) Piehl and Benjamin (Janelle) Kolhagen. Harriet will be lovingly remembered as “Happy Gramma” by her 13 great-grandchildren: Becca (Clarence) Smith, Lauren Scramlin, Dominic, Macklain, Ann Marie and Rosalie Piehl, Chase and Brooke Kolhagen, Ashlyn and Nolan Piehl, Macey, Micah and Madden Kolhagen; great great-grandson, Easton Smith and another great great-grandson, Colton Smith expected at any day. Harriet is also survived by her brother, Charles Cook; sister-in-law, Carol Kolhagen. Harriet was preceded in death by her daughter, Karen Ann Piehl; siblings: Edna Betty Lutenski, infant, Robert George Cook, Mary M. Plowman, William Cook, Wilma C. Mazerolle and Helen J. Decatur.
