Harriet Luan (Asquith) Lipka, 89, of Peru, passed away Sunday, December 6, 2015 at West Oaks Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Houston, TX.
Mrs. Lipka was born on March 25, 1926 in Macomb, IL to Cleo Ralph and Florence (Hites) Asquith. She married George Lipka. She worked in the parts assembly at Hobbs in Peru. She was the first female member of the Elks Club in Peru, called bingo at the Elks Club and organized and called bingo at the Veterans Home in LaSalle.
She is survived by her two children, Steven J. (Frances) Swanson of Houston, TX and Timothy G. (Cindy) Swanson of Mary Ester, FL; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; the father of her children, Theodore G. Swanson; her husband, George Lipka on September 10, 1983 and one sister in infancy.
