Harriet Callender, 86, of Anderson, passed away January 10, 2014 at her residence in Anderson, IN. She was born on July 1, 1927 in Daleville, Indiana and resided most of her life in Anderson.
Harriet graduated from Daleville High School in 1945. She was a retired Secretary for Best Ever Dairy and she also worked for Shultz Department Store in Angola, IN. She was a member of the Tri County Christian Church of Middletown, IN. She also enjoyed bowling and loved to crochet.
Harriet is survived by her children, Louis D. Elaine Callender of Manchester, TN, and Sandra J. Bill Holliday of Anderson; Sisters, Emma Lawson of Fresno, CA, Helen Jackson of Daleville, Tressa Souders of Muncie, and Eva Lewis of Manchester, TN; grandchildren, Heather Fletcher, David Callender Cindy, Rex Holliday Becky, and Danny Callender Amy; great grandchildren, Kalie Fletcher, Taylor Fletcher, Madison Holliday, Marissa Holliday, Andrew King, Anthony King, Adam King and Kaleb Terry; and a great-great grandson, Trevor Carson Bertram.
She was also survived by 5 Nieces and 4 Nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Griffin Callender; father, Walter McKee; mother, Esta McKee; infant brother, Walter Leroy McKee, Sisters Mary Horton, Elizabeth Southers, and Frances Kramer. The family would like to thank St. John’s Hospice, and Mark Jones for their special care.
