Harold W. Johnson, 91, of Galesburg, died on Monday, January 21, 2019, 5:55 AM, at the Knox County Nursing Home, Knoxville.
Harold was born on November 7, 1927, in Ottumwa, Iowa. He was the son of Harold and Cora (Numbers) Johnson.
Harold married Mary L. Burkett on September 12, 1947 in Monmouth. Together they celebrated 68 years of marriage. She preceded him in death on February 5, 2016.
Harold is survived by his four children; William and Judy Johnson of Broken Arrow, OK, Gary Johnson and Melinda Webber of Galesburg, Janet and Tim Lytle of Galesburg and Greg Johnson of La Crosse, WI; a sister, Judy Kay Sullivan of Galesburg; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren. Harold was preceded in death by his parents.
Harold was a veteran of the United States Navy. He worked as a brakeman and a conductor for the C, B & Q and Burlington Northern Rail Roads for over 40 years, retiring in 1991.
