HAROLD W. SWARTZ
Harold W. Swartz, 76, of Carlisle, died Tuesday, October 16, 2012 in the Thornwald Home, Carlisle.
Born November 4, 1935 in Loysville, Perry County, he was s son of the late C. Harold and Helen R. (Weibley) Swartz. His first wife, Mary (Shambaugh) Swartz preceded him in death in 1984.
Mr. Swartz was a graduate of Perry Joint High School, Class of 1953. He received his Bachelor’s degree from Shippensburg State Teachers College, now Shippensburg University in 1957 and his Master’s degree from Rutgers University in 1962.
He taught mathematics in the Northern York County School District for 40 years. Harold was a member of the Wesleyan Church of the Cross, Carlisle.
Surviving are his wife: Pauline (Brenneman) Hovis Swartz; three sons: David and wife Shelly of Loysville; Larry and wife Chris of Biglerville and Mark and wife Marjorie of Mechanicsburg; two sisters: H. Lois Reasey of Greencastle and Sally A. Holmes of Midland, MI and 10 grandchildren.
