Harold Rothwell, 90, of Idaho Falls, passed away April 19, 2016, at Life Care Center of Idaho Falls.
Harold was born August 9, 1925, in Moore, Idaho, to Glen Rothwell and Eleanor Ann Williams Rothwell. He grew up and attended elementary schools and high school in Moore, but was drafted into the United States Army before graduating. He served as a radio operator in Germany during World War II.
On June 14, 1958, he married Lois Mary Shaffer in Elko, Nevada. To this union were born two children, Debra and Larry. Harold and Lois made their home in Moore. They moved to Idaho Falls in 2004. Harold worked as a welder for the AEC for 30 years.
He was very patriotic and was a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was also a life member of the National Rifle Association. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and welding.
Harold is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Lois Rothwell of Idaho Falls, ID; daughter, Debra Leatherman of Idaho Falls, ID; son, Larry Rothwell of Idaho Falls, ID; sister, Lola Benson of Salt Lake City, UT; and two grandsons.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Herbert Rothwell; and sister, Marie King.
