Harold J Owens, Jr.
(“Butch, The Tinman”)
Matthews, NC
December 24, 1942 – June 29,2018

Butch lost his life on June 29, 2018, after a 10 month long, multiple hospital / multiple surgical battles – due to complications of surgical errors. He fought such a hard battle to the very end!

Butch will always be remembered for his extra large smile, heart, and love of cutting up, joking and laughter!

He is the GREATEST Father, Grandfather, Brother, Son, Uncle, Friend, in the world, and a ONE OF A KIND Husband to his very dear, devoted, loving wife of 57 years, who stayed by his side 24/7, throughout this tragedy!

Butch will be so dearly missed by all of his family and friends! He truly was “one of a kind” to everyone! He always thought of others before himself – he would do anything, anytime, to help someone!
He loved to collect junk and scrapping old metals – many times, he would fix up old stuff to give to someone who was in need! Butch loved living, and making others happy! He would light up the room ANYWHERE he went!
He loved to meet with his friends to eat lunch everyday, sitting on the front porch, under the magnolia trees, drinking tea, while cutting up and joking with family and friends.

Butch was preceded in death by his beloved Daughter, Lisa H. Owens, his Father, Harold J. Owens, his Mother, Mildred C. Owens and his Sister, Patsy O. Howell.
Butch is survived by his Wife, Margie T. Owens, Daughter, Lori Owens, his Brother, J.D. Owens, his Grandsons, Ricky Owens, John Innis, Jamie Innis and lots of Sister In Laws, Brother In Laws, Nieces and Nephews, and Friends.
