Harold J. Smith, 73, of Bushkill Twp., passed away on Tuesday, November 18, 2014 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Christine (DiMenichi) Smith. They were married 24 years on November 2. Born in Bethlehem, he was the son of the late George H. and Marguerite C. (Hock) Smith. He served his country in the U.S. Army. Jim was a police officer for 25 years for the City of Bethlehem until retiring in 1992 as an Investigator, after retirement Jim was a Northampton County Detective for 9 years from 1992-2000 and from 2000-2004 he was the Director of Corrections for Northampton County. Jim enjoyed Auctions and Antiquing. Survivors: with his wife, Christine are his children, Lynn S. “Miki” Stenger, and her husband Brian of Story, Wyoming; Shawn M. Smith of Reigelsville, Pa.; Shane Smith of Oklahoma: and Heather A. Hauser and her husband Todd of Mertztown, Pa.; a sister, Linda S. Czap and her husband Albert of Schuylkill Haven, Pa.; Step-children Karyl Bruno and her husband Tony of Souderton, Pa.; Eric Bollman of Knoxville, TN; Brian Bollman of Florida and Cathy Williams and her husband, Eric of Maryland; 13 grandchildren, Connor and Makenzie Smith, Hannah and Haley Hauser, Angela and Dante Bruno, Daniel, Aaron, Holly and Kelly Bollman, Vincent, Zachary and Elliot Williams.
