Former Chikaming Township Supervisor, Harold James Gilmore Jr, 86, of Lakeside, Michigan died on June 29, 2007.

Mr. Gilmore was born March 8, 1921 in Chicago, Illinois. Before moving to Lakeside in 1979, he lived in Chicago and Park Forest, Illinois.

A 1942 graduate of the University of New Mexico, Mr. Gilmore was a member of Sigma Chi fraternity. Following graduation, he enlisted in the United States Army and served in the European Theater in World War II. Among his military commendations is the Purple Heart. He married Mary Curtis Robinson on January 10, 1959. Mr. Gilmore’s entire professional career was with CNA, where he served as an Assistant Vice President.He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold, Sr. and Winogene, and his wife.

He is survived by his two sons, L. Vern Robinson (Sally) of Lakeside and their children, Christopher Robinson (Amy Carder) of Bellingham, Washington and Amy Robinson (Amilcar Challu) and their son Samuel of Bowling Green, Ohio; and H. James Gilmore (Sherry) and their three children, Grace, Griffin and Ronan of St. Augustine, Florida and his cousin, Rob Williams (Gwen) of Clive, Iowa and their sons, Brian of Cincinnati, Ohio and Bradley of Scottsdale, Arizona.
