Harold D. Headrick, Jr., 85, of rural Moberly, passed away peacefully at his home, Monday, November 16, 2020. He was born February 2, 1935 in Fortescue MO, to Harold D. Sr. and Hester Elizabeth (Bunker) Headrick.
He married Patricia Ann Johnson on May 29, 1955 at Middle Grove Christian Church and she survives in. Also surviving include four children, Wanda Garner of Moberly, Libby Wamsley and her husband Jesse of Moberly, Debbi Head of Wentzville and Rick Headrick and his wife Tracey of Coaldale, CO; 16 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren; a brother, Robert Headrick and his wife Margie of Moberly; a sister, Sue Alberti and husband Don of Jefferson City; a brother Jerry Headrick and his wife Gayle of Woodstock, GA; a sister-in- law Almaree Headrick of Lauderdale Lakes FL; a brother-in-law Wayne Johnson and his wife Joyce of Moberly; a sister-in- law Alberta Johnson of Columbia; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Harold was preceded in death by his parents; a brother Tom Headrick; and a sister LaVerta Odegaard.
He was a graduate of Moberly High School and Moberly Junior College.
Harold joined the United States Marine Corp in July, 1953 and retired in July, 1973 after serving in the Korea and Vietnam Wars. He was stationed at Camp Pendleton, Barstow and San Diego CA, Albany GA, Washington D. C. and Camp Lejeune N.C. He advanced from the rank of PFC to Captain during his service. After retiring, he and his family returned to Moberly. He began working for the Missouri State Board of Healing Arts as an Investigator and retired in 1996. After retiring Harold and Pat enjoyed extensive traveling throughout the US and abroad. He was a life member of the Moberly VFW Post #2654 and was actively involved with the Moberly Veteran’s Flag Project.
