Harold Hal Lowell Shipley, Jr. of Anderson, Indiana, passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by his family on January 19, 2014 at the age of 72 following a brief battle with cancer. He was born on January 26, 1941 in Indianapolis. In 1959 he graduated from Broad Ripple High School, where he won a state wrestling championship. He was inducted to the Indiana Wresting Hall of Fame in 1996.

He spent more than 40 years in data processing as a programmer and system analyst, mostly in the health insurance field. He retired from One America in October 2010. He became a member of Mensa International in 1983. He enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, jigsaw puzzles, and spending time with his family.

He especially enjoyed his time with his youngest daughter, Brandi, participating in the YMCA Indian Princess Program. His acerbic wit and quick come backs will be missed by those who knew and loved him. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold L. Shipley and Velma Beaver Shipley.

He is survived by his wife, Patti Forse Shipley, and four children: Harold R. Shipley of Indianapolis, Stacey Harris David of Fishers, Suzanne Shipley of Fishers, and Brandi Shipley of Indianapolis.

He is also survived by four grandchildren: Zachary and Charlie Harris and Erin and Sarah Shipley; his sister Carol Ann Shipley Clark Gary; parents-in-law Harry and Arlene Forse, sister-in-law Nancy Michael Nuce and seven nieces and nephews.
