Harold “Ed” Edward Vreeland, Senior Chief Petty Officer, U.S. Navy retired, passed away on April 11, 2024 at the age of 52. He bravely served his country for 20 years, dedicating his life to defending freedom and protecting others.Ed served with honor and distinction, receiving over 35 awards, commendations, and medals, such as the Bronze Star Medal, Humanitarian Service Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation and Achievement Medals, among others.Ed is survived by former spouse, Ashley Vreeland; children, Colette, and Isaac; mother and father-in-law, Lillian and Andrew McLaurin; sister-in-law, Lindsay McLaurin; mother, Linda Vreeland; father, Harold A. Vreeland; brothers, Chris Vreeland and Joey Vreeland; sister, Theresa Smith; life-long friend, David Jacobs; and friend, Kelvin Graham; among others.A kid at heart, he was an avid video gamer and motorcyclist who enjoyed sharing his hobbies with his children.
