Harold “Barney” Mullihan died on April 18, 2013 at the Milford Care Center in Milford, Iowa. Barney was born on September 18, 1929 in Mingo, Iowa to Ivan and Mabel Mullihan. He graduated from Collins High School in 1947. He was a farmer and a truck driver, and he retired from Donnelley Marketing in Nevada. Barney and Marilyn were married on January 15, 1983 at the Spirit Lake United Methodist Church. They lived in Collins, Iowa until Barney retired in 1991. They then moved to a home on Big Spirit Lake and recently had moved into their home in Spirit Lake, Iowa. Barney enjoyed golfing, dancing, telling jokes and spending winters at their home in Alamo, Texas. Barney is survived by his wife Marilyn, his children Vicki Keagle of Urbandale, Mike Mullihan of Urbandale, Peggy Evans and her husband John of Collins, Nancy Hermanson and her husband Roger of Story City, their mother Doris Dickel of Ankeny, his stepson Ken Ferguson and his wife Cherie of Spirit Lake, his step daughter-in-law Janice Ferguson of Terril, 9 grandchildren, 7 step grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and 16 step great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents Ivan and Mabel, his father and mother in law Sam and Addie Mills, sisters Ruth and Faye, his stepson Hal Ferguson, and his daughter-in-law Cathy Mullihan.
