Harold B. Stover, Jr. 65 of Centralia, passed away Tuesday, April 30, 2013 at St. Mary’s Good Samaritan Hospital in Centralia. Harold was born November 24, 1947 in Centralia, son of Harold B. Stover, Sr. and Helen (Crittenden) Stover. He married Shan Love on May 21, 1972 and she survives in Centralia.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters: Dr. Lauri Ann Stover-Hartmann and husband Tad of Sparta and Brooke White of Centralia; a son: Derrik Stover of Odin; four grandchildren: Jason Profancik, Jr., Alison, Brenna and Colin Hartmann; a sister: Susan Smart and husband Jesse of Bloomington; younger sister: Victoria Migliore and husband Mario of Columbia, Missouri; niece: Deborah Barton of Bloomington; a nephew: Gregory Smart of Hoopeston, Illinois.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a granddaughter, Sarah Hartmann. Harold attended Central Grade School and graduated from Centralia Township High School in 1965, after which he attended Southern Illinois University at Carbondale. He was retired, but was previously employed as a construction manager for several construction companies. He was also the Director of Engineering at St. Mary’s Hospital in Centralia. He was the keyboard player for the Epics, a local band that has been together since 1963. They played at numerous benefits and dances in the community. Most of all he loved spending time with his family, especially playing with Alison, Brenna and Colin and taking his grandson Jason trap shooting.
