Harlan was born on February 24, 1920, at the family farm near Waco, NE to Hugo and Florentine (Schlueter) Naber. He was a veteran of WWII, serving in the U.S. Army from May 16, 1939 – October 4, 1943. On June 11, 1944, Harlan was united in marriage to Mildred Anderson at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Goehner, NE. Harlan and Mildred farmed near Waco until their retirement then they moved to Utica, NE. Harlan was a member of the Utica American Legion Post #49 for 61 years. Harlan passed away on April 25, 2012, at Heartland Park in Seward, NE at the age of 92 years, 2 months and 1 day. He is survived by three sons and their wives, Clyde and Helen Naber of Roca, NE, Neil and Erma Naber of Waco, NE and Wayne and Joan Naber of Waco, NE; grandchildren, Grant (Daisy) Naber, Aaron (Amber) Naber, John (Krystel) Naber, Kyle Naber, Rachel (Corey) Burke, Aimee Naber and Kelly Naber; great-grandchildren, Reece Naber, Scarlet Naber, Brylie Naber, Kathryn Naber and Lily Naber; sister, Dorothy Gocke of Utica, NE.
