Harish B. Patel, age 75, Munster, IN. A gentle soul of Harishbhai B. Patel is reunited with his beloved princess Rohini Harish Bontje. He was born in Dharmaj, India to Babubhai and Vimlaben Patel. His parents and his siblings moved to Dar Es Salaam Tanzania where he married his beautiful, devoted wife Usha Patel. His son Rohit Patel was his pride and joy. He is loved and adored by his daughter in law Dipti Patel, Son in law Jim Bontje and his grandchildren Kelan & Dylan Harish and Caleb, Joshua and Asha Bontje. His brothers Dilip, and Bipin and his sisters Mrudula and Lata will miss him dearly.
He moved to US in 1978 to Chicago with his family. He started to work as a repair technician for Apex Amusement repairing juke boxes. He worked 6 days a week to support his family and made a loving home for them. He was a brilliant man who could fix anything. He was man for very few words and full of wisdom. He lived a simple and comfortable life.
He was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease in 1994. He never let this disease hinder his work but he finally had to retire in 2002. He made a decision to have DBS (deep brain stimulation) surgery so that he could have a better quality life. Though somewhat successful ultimately it did not provide a longer period of quality in life however his wife who never let him give up helped him until the day he peacefully departed from us.
Dada will be missed dearly by his family and friends.
