Mr. Westby was born August 6, 1920 in Havre, Montana, one of six children, son of the late Nels and Eva (Orn) Westby. He was a graduate of Jamestown High School and spent two years at the Jamestown Business College before enlisting in the United States Navy. He served in the Navy on a PT Boat in the Philippines and New Guinea. Following the war he then became the owner of the Wood and Westby Dairy from 1945 to 1971. On October 13, 1945 he married Dorothea Wood.
He will be remembered as a terrific father and loving husband. This past October he and his wife celebrated their 63rd wedding anniversary. He was an avid Red Sox fan and golfer. He had been a member of the Crestbrook Men’s Golf Association.
