H. Norman Hartley, 90, of Galesburg, died at 11:50 a.m. Monday, October 15, 2012 at Marigold Health Care Center, Galesburg. Norm was born July 13, 1922 in Stark County, the son of Roy E. and Maude E. (Camp) Hartley, Sr. He first married Mary Frances Annfield.

She preceded him in death on June 19, 1996. Norm later married Ellen Tabb on January 31, 1998 at Coldbrook Christian Church, Coldbrook. Norm is survived by his wife Ellen of Galesburg; three sons, Mark, John, and Chris; three step-children, Richard Tabb of Quincy, Sue (Charlie) Rebstock of Cleburne, TX, and Becky (Kenneth) Hansen of Galesburg; and several grandchildren as well as a sister-in-law, Gloria Hartley of Toulon. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Mary Ann Ostrowski. Norm worked many years as a self employed plumber and at Thomas Plumbing.

He served in the Army in WWII.  He was a member of Coldbrook Christian Church, the Galesburg VFW Post 2257, and Ralph M. Noble American Legion Post #285.  Norm was one of the first veterans to take the Honor Flight to the Veteran’s Memorial in Washington D.C.
