Feeding Hills- Guy R. Jacques, 91, passed away at home on December 10, surrounded by his loving family and devoted wife of 65 years Carmen (Mailhot) Jacques. Guy was born in Garthby, PDQ, Canada on December 15, 1928 one of fifteen children of the late Albini and Marianne (Deblois) Jacques. Guy and Carmen moved to Holyoke in 1965 and raised their 4 children in Chicopee. They spent the past twenty-four years in Feeding Hills. Guy was a grocer for many years starting in the Canadian grocery business and later retired from Pat’s Supermarket in Holyoke after 25 years of commitment. He also worked for Xidex and Moore Drop Forge companies, sometimes working three jobs to support his family.

Guy was always ready to do things with friends and family. He loved gardening and was passionate about hockey. He was happiest just being around his family and sharing many meals with them. Guy always had a smile and loving acceptance for all those he met. In addition to the love of his life, he is survived by his four children and their spouses, Johanne Kolodziej and her husband Ed of Longmeadow; Lyne Paradis and her husband Rick of Southampton; Daniel Jacques and his wife Bethany of Hadley; and Guylaine Rivest and her husband Mark of Feeding Hills.

Pepere will be missed by his eleven grandchildren, Jennifer Haghayegh, Alyssa Demers, Nicholaus Paradis, Kristin Trznadel, Celia Demers, Joshua Jacques, Samantha Roberts, Cassandra Holt, Matthew Jacques, John Jacques and Becca Paradis, eleven great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family members. Guy also leaves 2 brothers and a sister, Marc Jacques, Lucien Jacques and Collette Roux all of Sherbrooke, Canada.

The family would also like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the wonderful people at Pioneer Valley Home care for all the gentle and loving care provided for Guy. You quickly became part of the family.  We would also like to extend our gratitude to Holyoke VNA and Hospice Care for their assistance.
