He was born on March 22, 1945 in Stratford, QC Canada, the youngest of 16 children of the late Charles and Georgianna (Nadeau) Prevost. He moved from Canada to Hartford in 1962 and worked as a carpenter until moving back to Canada in 1976 where he was co-owner of an auto parts store with his brother Yvon. In 1986, he returned to Connecticut and resided in Newington ever since. He worked as a union carpenter until his illness forced him to retire in 2005. He leaves many friends and family not only in CT, but also in Canada and in Fort Lauderdale, FL where he resided for a few years. He was a member of the CT Carpenters Local 43 and an honorary member of the Knights of Columbus. His greatest joy were his children and grandchildren and he was always available to tackle any renovation project his son and son-in-law needed help with. He was always there when friends and family needed help. His favorite pastime was fishing with his friend Maurice until his illness no longer made it possible. He is survived by his beloved wife of 46 years, Aline (Gagne), his daughter Lynn Minnick and her husband Scott, his son Steven Prevost and his two grandchildren, Julien and Charlotte Minnick all of East Hampton. He also leaves his five brothers, Gerard of Lennoxville, Canada, Armand and his wife Violette, and Yvon, all of Sherbrooke, Canada, Laurent and his wife Nancy of West Hartford and Gaetan of Niantic, his sisters-in-law, Pauline (Halle) Prevost of Sherbrooke, Canada, Gilberthe (Pare) Prevost of Thetford Mines, Canada, Francoise (Plante) Prevost of Stratford, Canada and Estelle Parent of FL. He was predeceased by his nine brothers and three sisters. The family wishes to thank the many friends who supported him and his wife during his long battle with many medical challenges, which he faced with courage to the end.
