Guy Derrick Walton, age 63, of Albuquerque, NM, beloved husband, son, brother and “uncle” was called to his eternal resting place on January 9, 2020, after a long battle with Glioblastoma. He entered this world on February 23, 1956, in Albuquerque, NM. He was born to Guy Walton Jr. and Barbara E. (Sizemore) Walton. He is survived by his spouse, Gina Grier-Walton; mother, Barbara E. Walton; sister, Barbara B. Arias and husband, Charles; brother, Roy J. Griffin and wife, Esterlene; stepsons, Gael, Bronson and Koleman; nephews, Gregory, Jeremiah, Kevin; niece, Lesa, and Keith; mother-in-law, Gwendolyn Samuels; sister-in-law, Pam Grier; brother-in-law. Rod Grier; (all of Denver, Colorado) and a host of relatives, fraternal brothers, colleagues and friends.

He was an amazing, beautifully analytical man who made a lasting impact on so many people. Guy was married in Santa Fe, New Mexico, on July 9, 2016, to Gina Marguerita Grier. Guy completed his studies at Oklahoma State University and post-graduate studies at Tuskegee Institute, Alabama. He was a long-standing member of the Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, where he served in many positions including Tri-State District Director, President (Iota Psi Lambda Chapter), Vice President (Iota Psi Lambda Chapter) and participated actively in numerous activities over his 44 years of service.

Guy D. Walton was employed by the University of New Mexico Medical School and worked at the Police Crime Labs in Albuquerque and Aurora, Colorado, for over 30 years as a Forensic Chemist. He was a scientist who loved the game of golf, astrophysics, and dearly admired classic cars, and playing with his pups Lily and Luna. He loved his family, his mom, his sister, his brother, stepsons and family.
