Grover C. Melvin, a resident of Columbus, Ohio, passed away on April 7, 2023, at the age of 63 due to heart failure. Grover was born on May 4, 1959, to Betty & Grover Melvin in Columbus, Ohio. He graduated from Central High School in 1977 and went on to study business management at Ohio State University, where he earned his degree.
After graduation, Grover began his career in construction management at G. W. Melvin Contracting and worked there for over 30 years. In 1989, Grover met Denise at a mutual friend’s house party. They instantly hit it off and enjoyed over three decades of love and companionship. Grover and Denise shared a great sense of adventure and humor and were known for their kindness and generosity.
Grover had an extraordinary sense of humor and an infectious laugh and was everybody’s favorite asshole. He was kind and compassionate and respected every individual’s right to choose their desired life path. He was fiercely independent and guarded his privacy, but he loved his family unconditionally. Grover always rooted for them protected them, forgave them, and never ceased to love them.
After retiring in 2019, Grover spent his time with his beloved wife, traveling, listening to live music, and caring for his Yorkshire terriers.
Grover was predeceased by his wife, Denise, his dad Grover W. and his brother, Dick. He is survived by his mom, Betty, his sister Missy (Steve), the Wenger Family, and a gaggle of nieces, nephews, cousins, and a crew of friends.
