DURHAM- Mr. Gregory Klaiber, 38, passed away Sunday, September 17, 2017.
Mr. Klaiber was born November 29, 1978 in Queens, NY. He graduated from the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill. While working as a manager of the digital media lab (MRC) at the University of North Carolina, he was awarded the Chancellor’s Award for Excellence. Mr. Klaiber met his loving, Norwegian wife Solveig at a Heavy Metal Festival in the Czech Republic, and they celebrated their one year anniversary on September 2, 2017. Mr. Klaiber formed the band American Empire (Durham). He was a sound engineer for many bands, and operated Caveman Studios, providing recording services for many bands.
Mr. Klaiber is survived by his wife, Solveig Evjen; mother, Patricia Klaiber of Greensboro, NC; brother, Jonathan Klaiber of Greensboro, NC; sister, Jennifer Klaiber Chapman of Greensboro, NC; nephew, Logan Rook of Greensboro, NC.
