Gregory Edward Ries, 65 of Tampa, Florida. Gregory moved to Tampa in the early 1980’s from Wisconsin. He is survived by his companion of 27 years Carol A. Yingst, sister Sandy and her daughter Kiersten, brother Chris of Wisconsin. Step-children Shelley, Bonnie, Billy and grandchildren, Sally, Courtney & Ryan. Gregory was born in Chicago and was a Chicago Bears and White Sox fan, he was about to play baseball for the White Sox Farm Team before getting called to duty in Vietnam as a United States Marine, where he suffered a life changing injury which earned him a Purple Heart. After recovering from his injury, Gregory become an Electrician. Eventually, Gregory moved to Tampa and met Carol, where he enjoyed boating and going to Buc’s games and eventually converted to a Tampa Bay Buccaneers fan & Tampa Bays Rays fan. He will be sorely missed.
