Gracie Ella “Chella” Enriquez was taken from us too soon on Friday, October 9, 2015. Gracie was born on November 20, 1980 in Lamesa, Texas, where she was raised before moving to Fort Worth, Texas in 2002. She was known as the best hugger. Gracie would not just give you a short, quick pat on the back, but a genuine bear-hug squeeze that would let you know that you mattered to her. Even with her small 4′ 9″ stature, she would light up the whole room with her smile. Gracie was completely selfless; she put everyone before herself. When you talked with Gracie, she would listen and be so attentive that she always made you feel important and heard. She had an independent spirit, and was a hard working lady. She dedicated 17 years to her career at Walmart. She started at the bottom, but with hard work and determination, she worked her way up. Gracie was a wonderful mother, and she was so very proud of her three girls. Her daughters were her world. Everyone sees her in the girls, especially through their caring spirits. Karrie has Gracie’s work-ethic. Gracie was so proud of Karrie when she left to study at Texas Tech University in August. Iraya has Gracie’s independent spirit. Gracie was so proud that Iraya does what she thinks is right in her heart no matter what the crowd tells her to do; Iraya sees the truth in every situation. Qallah has Gracie’s light. Gracie was so proud of the way Qallah lights up a room and tries to make everyone happy around her. Gracie will live on in her girls. Gracie had a close relationship with lots of other people, and many would consider her their best friend. Aside from her daughters, Gracie had an especially close relationship with her brother, Jesse, and her family’s friend, Kaylon Hodge.

Gracie is survived by her three cherished girls, Karrie Lorae Rodriguez, Iraya Butler, and Qallah Butler; her adoring mother, Emelda Lopez; her devoted brother, Jesse Enriquez; her much-loved niece and nephew, Michelle and Steven Enriquez; close friend, Kaylon Hodge; and a host of best friends.

Although we are so very saddened that Gracie was taken from us, we find comfort knowing that she is walking streets of gold and giving Jesus the best bear-hug ever. Gracie will be truly missed by all that knew her.
