Grace Poli, age 83, died on May 5, 2019, in Port St. Lucie, FL.

Grace is survived by her son, John Poli, Jr., of Port St Lucie, and her three grandchildren, Trevor, age 20, Miranda, age 12, and Madeline, age 10. She is preceded in death by her mother, father, and sister, Vita “Ann” Vasta.

Grace was born on November 14th, 1935 in West New York, NJ, to parents Nicola and Anna Maria Zizzi. The daughter of Italian immigrants, Grace graduated from Union Hill High School in 1954, the first in her family to do so.

Grace married John Poli on September 11, 1966, and the couple had one son, John Jr., in January of 1970. Grace and John moved to South Florida in 1972 and raised their son in Boca Raton until 1990 when they moved to Port St Lucie.

Grace was an avid reader; known to always be in the middle of a mystery or crime novel. She dearly loved her family, both near and far, and spoiled them with her extraordinary authentic Italian cooking; no one ever left her home hungry. All who entered her home were welcomed as family. One of her fondest memories was helping her mother make the next day’s lunches for her father, brother, and cousins each night.
