Grace Brehm Strife, 71

Troy Grace Brehm Strife, 71, of Mason Street, died Sunday at Wesley Health Care Saratoga Springs, after a long illness.

Born in Troy, she was daughter of the late James L. and Anna Keegan Brehm and wife for 49 years of James A. Strife. She had resided in Troy most of her life and since October at Wesley Health Care. She was a graduate of Catholic Central High School class of 1948.

Mrs. Strife was an administrative assistant at Emma Willard School in Troy for 20 years, retiring 8 years ago and worked in the same capacity at Russell Sage College prior to that. Many years ago she was secretary for attorney Eugene Coffey.

She was a member of the St. Joseph’s School PTA and a communicant of St. William’s Church in Troy.

Survivors in addition to her husband include a son Timothy Strife and Angela Gavin of Troy; two daughters Cynthia McLaughlin and husband Rick of Troy and Bonnie O’Connor and husband Dr. William O’Connor of Saratoga Springs; 6 grandchildren Ryan, Briana and Kaela McLaughlin all of Troy and Patrick, Cara and Kaeleen O’Connor all of Saratoga Springs; a special cousin Grace Bulger of Troy; an aunt Rose Hill of Troy and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by a sister Joan Pittz.
