Grace Basile, 93, of Bethlehem died on Saturday Nov. 16, 2013, at the VNA Hospice House of St. Luke’s. Born on Jan. 27, 1920 in Bethlehem, she was the daughter of the late Donato and Norina (DeLaurentis) Basile. She worked 40 yrs in the the administrative offices in the Billing Division of the Bethlehem Steel until her retirement in 1982. Grace attended Bethlehem schools and was a member of the former Our Lady of Pompeii Church, Bethlehem. During World War II, Grace supported a Sons of Italy drive to raise funds for building a memorial orphanage in Cassino, Italy. Surviving: cousins Gina and George Ortwein of Bethlehem, nieces Nina Basile of Reading, Christine and husband John Tomaszewski of Wells, ME, Annette and husband Lawrence Borgia of Bethlehem, Victoria Elgin of Parker, CO, Valerie and husband Martin Carlin of Downingtown; nephew Daniel Basile of Dania, FL, and nieces Debbie Martin and Sharon Butler-Jones of Ft. Lauderdale; and over 20 great nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by brothers, John and Anthony Basile and niece Nora Shafer.
