Wilson….Gordon Lee “Dick” Parrish, 66, of Wilson went peacefully to sleep in the arms of Jesus on Friday morning.
Gordon was a hard worker and family man. Gordon loved the outdoors, picking blueberries, eating peanuts on the porch, and watching old westerns on TV and DVD’s.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Hurbert “Cottonhead” and Doris Pittman Parrish, and father-in-law, Herbert “Dickie” Farmer.
He is survived by his wife of 21 years, Lori Farmer Parrish; daughter, Rebekah “Bekah” Parrish of the home; and four-legged son, Biscuit; sons, Dickie Lee Parrish (Amy) of Kinston and Travis Parrish (Dorinda) of Las Vegas; adopted parents, Vernon and Nancy Parrish of Lucama; mother-in- law, Dorothy Farmer of Wilson; brother-in-law, Thomas Farmer of Wilson; sister-in-law, Sherry Bass (Russ) of Wilson; grandchildren, Nick and Kassidy Parrish of Wilson, Isabella and Josiah Parrish of Las Vegas, and Emily Carmody of Kinston; sisters, Avis Jean Owens, Vonnie Parrish, Wanda (Curly) Tucker, all of Lucama.
